How we research, test and write
Our standards for accuracy, testing and independence — so you know what’s behind every article.
Written by practitioners
Every article is written or reviewed by an engineer who works with these systems directly. We do not publish anonymous, ghost-written or purely AI-generated content dressed up as experience. When something is opinion or judgement, we say so.
How we test
Where an article makes a practical claim — a wiring approach, a configuration, a piece of logic or a troubleshooting step — we test it on real or representative hardware, or we clearly flag where a step is theoretical. Code and configuration samples are run before they are published wherever the setup allows.
Accuracy and corrections
Standards, firmware and part numbers change. We cite manufacturer documentation and recognised standards where relevant, and we update articles as things move. If you spot an error, email us and we will correct it and note the change.
Safety first
Industrial work is hazardous. Our content is educational and general; it is not a substitute for site-specific engineering, your employer’s procedures, or the relevant safety standards. We say this plainly, and we mean it — verify before you act.
Independence
We are not paid to recommend specific products. If we ever run advertising, sponsorship or affiliate links, they will be disclosed and kept separate from our technical judgement. A vendor’s ad never buys a better verdict.
Sources and attribution
We credit sources, link to primary documentation, and use trademarks and product names only for identification. Diagrams and code we publish are our own unless attributed otherwise.
